Medicare Choices: Original Medicare

In most cases, people with Medicare get their Part A or Part B coverage as a Fee-for-Service (FFS) benefit through Original Medicare.

To help pay for some of the health care costs that Original Medicare doesn’t cover, patients can buy a Medigap policy.

They also can enroll in a Medicare drug plan (Part D) to get prescription drug benefits.
