We agree with the CMS proposal to remove the National Coverage Determination (NCD) for Transvenous (Catheter) Pulmonary Embolectomy (NCD 240.6), permitting Medicare coverage determinations for Transvenous (Catheter) Pulmonary Embolectomy to be made by Medicare Administrative Contractors (MACs) under §1862(a)(1)(A) of the Social Security Act (the Act).
