FIND HIGH-QUALITY HEALTH CARE OPTIONS

FIND HIGH-QUALITY HEALTH CARE OPTIONS

Let Quality Care Finder (medicare.gov/qualitycarefinder) help you find high quality health care options.

Not all health care is created equal. The providers and facilities you choose can impact your health.   Finding the right provider may help speed your recovery and improve the outcomes of your treatment outcomes.

Medicare’s Quality Care Finder has Medicare’s compare tools in one place. You can find providers, facilities, health and drug plans, and equipment suppliers, and make “apples-to-apples” comparisons of their quality.

Make well-informed decisions about the providers and facilities you trust with your health and your family’s health.

  • Compare Hospitals: Compare Medicare-certified hospitals based on the quality of their care (for example, the rate of readmission to the hospital within 30 days for certain conditions, like heart attack and pneumonia).
  • Compare Nursing Homes: Compare Medicare- and/or Medicaid-certified nursing homes based on the quality of care they give (for example, whether residents have gotten their flu shots, are maintaining their weight, or have their pain controlled). You can also compare star ratings based on the nursing homes’ health inspection results, staffing and quality.
  • Compare Home Health Agencies: Find Medicare-certified home health agencies based on availability of services like skilled nursing care, physical therapy, speech therapy and home health aides. Then, compare each home health agency based on the quality of their care (for example, how well they manage pain and treat wounds and keep patients safe).
  • Find a Medicare Health or Drug Plan: Get detailed, personalized information about the cost and benefits of available Medicare health and drug plans.
  • Compare Dialysis Facilities: Find Medicare-certified dialysis facilities and information about the services they offer. Then compare each facility based on quality of care (for example, whether patients had enough waste removed from their blood during dialysis treatments, or if their anemia was controlled properly).
  • Compare Doctors: Find doctors based on medical specialty, clinical training, foreign languages spoken, and more. You can also see if a doctor accepts the Medicare-approved amount as full payment.

You Have Choices in Who Cares for You

The quality of health care providers and facilities you choose can impact your health. Providers and facilities vary in how well they care for patients, the number of medical errors they make, and their experience with specific health conditions or procedures. Plans vary by cost, quality, and types of services they provide.
