QASP Medicare Secondary Payer (MSP)

What is measured?

The various MSP QASP standards measured: “I” record accuracy/timeliness, timeliness of refund adjudication, timeliness of Common Working File (CWF) entries; accuracy of Electronic Correspondence Referral System (ECRS) referrals; timeliness and efficiency of MSP claim inquiries; and adequate completion of hospital audits.

Trends and Observations

An overall positive trend can be observed from Fiscal Year 2017 – 2019.  Specifically, there has been an overall increase of four percentage points (4% increase) since 2017 as well as an increase in the lowest score. Every year at least one MAC was in 100% compliance.
