Section 2719 - The Alaska Division of Insurance will conduct formal training for agency staff, develop an electronic desk manual for guidance in implementing the new appeals process, and conduct meetings and presentations with key stakeholders. The Alaska Division of Insurance will develop and implement outreach and education efforts for consumers, including updating its website to incorporate the ability to receive comments, questions, and complaints from consumers about market reforms or issuer compliance. Alaska anticipates an increase in the number of appeals filed as a result of outreach, and will execute on-demand contracts to augment State staff for processing appeals. will use the NAIC State Based Systems External Healthcare Review module to organize the compilation of requests to allow for efficient transmission of documents among the involved parties.
