Section 2707 - The Massachusetts Division of Insurance will research other State Essential Health Benefit (EHB) Benchmark plans to understand the selection by other States compared to Massachusetts, and asses potential modifications to specific categories of benefits. This research will reflect the needs of Massachusetts’ health insurance market with the goal of increasing affordability for consumers. Additionally, Massachusetts will hire actuarial consultants to conduct targeted examinations of EHB health plans drug formularies. The examinations will confirm that health plans providing EHB cover at least the greater of one drug in every United States Pharmacopeia (USP) category and class or the same number of prescription drugs in each USP category and class.
