2022 Chronic Pain in the Medicare Population Infographic

Highlights:

• Among Medicare beneficiaries living in the community in 2022, 36 percent experienced chronic pain.
• Approximately 91 percent of Medicare beneficiaries living with chronic pain experienced chronic pain in more than one location.
• Among Medicare beneficiaries living with chronic pain, most common sources of pain included hips, knees or feet (87 percent), back (86 percent), and hands, arms, or shoulders (76 percent).
