MCBS Oral Cancer Screenings Among Medicare Beneficiaries Living in the Community Infographic

Highlights:

• In 2021, 31 percent of Medicare beneficiaries living in the community had an oral/mouth cancer screening.
• White non-Hispanic beneficiaries were most likely to have an oral/mouth cancer screening (36 percent) compared with Black non-Hispanic and Hispanic beneficiaries (12 percent and 15 percent, respectively).
• Medicare beneficiaries with dental coverage through a private plan were more likely to have an oral/mouth cancer screening compared with beneficiaries who had other types of dental coverage or no dental coverage.
