Medicare is statutorily required to review, and if necessary, adjust the malpractice relative value units (RVUs) no less than every 5 years. In the calendar year (CY) 2010 physician fee schedule (PFS) final rule, we have made revisions to the malpractice RVUs for CY 2010 based on an updated and expanded malpractice premium data collection.
