COVID-19 Accelerated and Advance Payment (CAAP) and Repayment Reporting

In accordance with the Continuing Appropriations Act, 2021 and Other Extensions Act enacted on October 1, 2020, the data published, and accessible under the CAAP Program Data heading, titled Medicare CAAP Data includes:

  1. The percentage of payments made from the Federal Hospital Insurance Trust Fund and the Federal Supplementary Insurance Trust Fund,
  2. A breakout of payments by provider and supplier type, and
  3. A listing of payments made by name and National Provider Identifier.

The data published, and accessible, under the CAAP Program Data heading, titled Medicare CAAP Repayment Data will include:

  1. The total amount of payments that have not been recouped or repaid and how those are divided between the Accelerated Payments Program and the Advance Payments Program,
  2. The amount of payments and the outstanding balance of those payments by program and provider or supplier type,
  3. The total amount of payments that have been recouped or repaid under each program, including information on the percentage of repayments made to the Federal Hospital Insurance Trust Fund and the Federal Supplementary Insurance Trust Fund by program, and
  4. The total amount of interest that has been collected under the CAAP program.

Beginning June 28, 2021, CMS will publish Repayment Data and update it every six months.

CMS is publishing AAP data as required by the Continuing Appropriations and Other Extensions Act of 2020.  Requests for additional data related to the program must be submitted through the CMS FOIA office.
