"Tip Sheet" for Identifying People with Medicare who are Eligible for Extra Help

CMS has designed the attached "Tip Sheet" as a resource to assist our partners in identifying people with Medicare who are eligible for extra help with their Part D prescription drug expenses due to having either limited income or limited resources. The "Tip Sheet" helps identify certain cash payments and resources which are not included in the calculations to determine LIS eligibility. Additionally, it includes the details for how a person with Medicare can apply for the extra help. We encourage our Part D Plan sponsors to identify and assist eligible people with Medicare to take advantage of this extra help.
