Updated Guidance on Medication Administration, Hospital Appendix A of the State Operations Manual

Revised memo updated 12/02/11.SOM Appendix A guidance concerning medication administration in hospitals is being updated to reflect current standards of practice related to timeliness of medications. Hospitals are expected to establish policies and procedures for the timing of medication administration that appropriately balance patient safety with the need for flexibility in work processes. Incorporate policy regarding standing orders from S&C-09-10.
