Resources & Flexibilities to Assist with Public Health Emergency in Puerto Rico
CMS announced additional resources and flexibilities in response to Hurricane Fiona in Puerto Rico. On September 20, HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra determined that a public health emergency exists in the commonwealth of Puerto Rico, retroactive to September 17. We’re ready to help with resources and waivers to ensure hospitals and other facilities can continue to operate and provide access to care.

On September 27, CMS released the 2023 premiums, deductibles, and coinsurance amounts for the Medicare Part A and Part B programs and the 2023 Medicare Part D income-related monthly adjustment amounts.

Find out about updates from recent Clinical Laboratory Fee Schedule (CLFS) meetings:
- Calendar year 2023 preliminary payment determinations (ZIP): Submit comments by October 24 to CLFS_Annual_Public_Meeting@cms.hhs.gov
- 2022 Annual Laboratory Public Meeting voting results (PDF): View recommendations
If your laboratory must submit private payer rate data, you can start on January 1, 2023.

DMEPOS: Change to Enrollment Contractor After November 6
November 6, 2022, is the last day that the National Supplier Clearinghouse (NSC) will process Medicare enrollment applications for DMEPOS suppliers.
Starting November 7, 2022, 2 new contractors will process Medicare enrollment applications for DMEPOS suppliers to make sure they meet all supplier standards and enrollment requirements:
- Novitas Solutions: Alabama, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin, District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands
- Palmetto GBA: Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Washington, Wyoming, American Samoa, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands
You don’t need to do anything. Continue to work with the NSC through November 6.
