Webinar: State Innovation Models Initiative Overview for State Officials

Webinar: State Innovation Models Initiative Overview for State Officials

When: Monday, August 6, 2012 | 3:00pm – 4:30pm ET

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) announced the State Innovation Models initiative, a competitive funding opportunity for states to design and test multi-payer payment and service delivery models that deliver high-quality health care and improve health system performance.

States could apply for either Model Testing awards which were intended to assist in implementing their already developed models, or states could apply for the Model Design awards that provided funding and technical assistance based on what type of system improvements would work best for them. Up to five states were chosen for the initial round of Model Testing awards and up to 25 states were chosen for Model Design awards.

To help States plan and prepare their application for either funding award, the CMS Innovation Center hosted a webinar for state officials. Governors’ offices were strongly encouraged to invite to this webinar their health care innovation team, key stakeholders and appropriate State officials such as State health departments directors, Medicaid directors, and insurance commissioners.
