CMS is modifying its process for enumerating and activating new HETS 270/271 submitters.
Currently, when a new HETS 270/271 submitter is approved, their HETS Submitter ID is created in TEST mode and added to the trading partner database.
Effective on Thursday, July 3, 2008, all new HETS 270/271 Submitter IDs will be created in TEST mode and will be created, but also immediately suspended, in the trading partner database. Submitters whom are ready to test will need to contact the MCARE Help Desk at least one business day in advance to schedule testing and ensure that the HETS 270/271 Submitter ID is reactivated in time for testing.
Submitters who are currently in TEST mode have until Wednesday, July 2, 2008 to complete testing under the current process. Submitters who have not completed testing by Wednesday, July 2, 2008 will have their HETS 270/271 Submitter ID suspended until they contact the MCARE Help Desk and state they are ready to test. Again, at least one business day advance notice will be required to schedule testing and ensure that the HETS 270/271 Submitter ID is reactivated in time for testing.
Please plan to complete HETS 270/271 testing by Wednesday, July 2, 2008 or be prepared to schedule testing with at least one business day notice in the future.
Please contact the MCARE Help Desk if you have any questions or comments.
