Medicare HETS UI Internet Eligibility Users:
CMS announces it will install a system release of the HETS UI system on Saturday, November 22, 2008 that will improve the HETS UI Internet Eligibility system. This release includes important changes in the HETS UI eligibility response. Please review the online release documentation and prepare as necessary. The online release documentation can be found in the Downloads section below.
Section 5.4.6 of the HETS UI User Guide describes the responses on the Plan Coverage Tab. Table 14 includes a description of each Plan Type and Plan Type Code that is being returned in the HETS UI Internet Eligibility system. Please note that effective with this release, HETS UI will be returning some plans with the description "Plan Type " Private Fee for Service " IN". The "IN" code reflects that these are actually Indemnity plans. CMS will modify the HETS system as soon as possible to return the description "Plan Type " Indemnity " IN". In the interim, CMS recommends that HETS UI Eligibility Users key on the Plan Type Code to determine Plan Type.
The installation will begin at 7:00AM ET on Saturday, November 22, 2008. The HETS UI Internet Eligibility system will be unavailable during this system release. Attempts to open an internet session to the HETS UI Internet Eligibility system will result in errors. CMS estimates that installation and testing will be complete by 12:00 PM (Noon) ET on Saturday, November 22, 2008.
