Medicare HETS 270/271 Submitters:

Please note that the Medicare 270/271 Eligibility system is currently returning responses with higher than normal average response times. The vast majority of requests are receiving a proper 271 response from Medicare, but the average response time for these requests is higher than normal. This issue has been escalated to CMS IT for review and resolution.

Please remember that the Medicare 270/271 system will wait 60 seconds before returning a AAA03=42 time out response. If your system is generating timeouts prior to 60 seconds, please understand that you may not be waiting long enough to receive an answer.
