Medicare HETS 270/271 Submitters:
The HETS 270/271 Companion Guide has been updated to include upcoming changes that will be installed during the Q3 release. Please review the updated link below.
CMS is planning a HETS 270/271 system release in September, 2010 that will enhance the 271 responses Trading Partners receive from the HIPAA Eligibility Transaction System (HETS) 270/271. No content changes to the 270 request will be required for this release. However, effective with this release, HETS 270/271 will begin validating NPI numbers and Submitter/NPI relationships in real-time. All HETS Submitters will be required to create approved Submitter/NPI relationships via HPG 3.0. Please review the online release documentation in the Downloads section below and prepare as necessary.
The release is scheduled to be installed on Saturday, September 11, 2010. The HETS 270/271 application will be unavailable during the system release. CMS will distribute more specific release information (including estimated outage times) in August, 2010.
