Medicare HETS 270/271 Submitters:

CMS announces that the HETS 270/271 Q3 system release scheduled for Sunday, October 3, 2010 has been postponed. Real-time validation of NPIs by HETS 270/271 has also been postponed from its announced Sunday, October 3, 2010 activation date.

CMS plans to install the HETS 270/271 Q3 system release as quickly as possible, but there is no scheduled installation date at this time. CMS will notify HETS 270/271 Submitters when the Q3 release has been rescheduled.

CMS will continue to utilize its existing NPI audit process until real-time NPI validation is activated. There is no scheduled activation date at this time. CMS will notify HETS 270/271 Submitters when the real-time NPI validation date is rescheduled.

CMS recommends that HETS 270/271 Submitters continue to create and/or maintain Submitter/NPI relationships via HPG to ensure that your organization will be ready for real-time NPI validation.
