HETS 270/271
Medicare HETS 270/271 Submitters:
CMS announces that the HETS 270/271 Q3 release will be installed on Saturday, December 4, 2010. No content changes to the 270 request will be required for this release.
Effective with this release, HETS 270/271 will have the capability to validate NPI numbers and Submitter/NPI relationships in real-time. HETS 270/271 Submitters should use HPG 3.0 to create approved Submitter/NPI relationships. Please note, however, that CMS will not immediately enable real-time NPI validation upon installation of this release. Future CMS communications will provide additional information regarding when the real-time NPI validation edit will be activated.
Please review the online Q3 release documentation in the Downloads section below and prepare as necessary. Note that the content of the Q3 release has changed since earlier versions of this document were published. The Q3 release will now include updating HETS 270/271 to return 2011 Deductible and Co-Payment Rates. Please be sure to refresh your browser to obtain the most current copy of the Release Summary document. The current Release Summary document shows an implementation date of December, 2010.
The release is scheduled to be installed on Saturday, December 4, 2010 beginning at 6:00 AM ET. The HETS 270/271 application will be unavailable during the system release. Submitters should not attempt to utilize the HETS system during the installation and testing period. CMS estimates that the installation and testing will be complete by 11:59 PM ET on Saturday, December 4, 2010.
