HETS 270/271
Medicare HETS 270/271 Submitters:
The HETS 270/271 2010Q3 release was installed on December 4, 2010. That release was removed from production on December 6, 2010 (The 2011 Medicare rates that were part of the 2010Q3 release were not removed and remain in production today). The scheduled HETS 270/271 2010Q3 and 2010Q4 releases have now been consolidated into the upcoming HETS 270/271 2011Q2 release.
The HETS 270/271 2011Q2 release will include components of the 2010Q3 and 2010Q4 releases that were previously announced, plus additional changes. CMS anticipates deployment of the HETS 270/271 2011Q2 release by April 2011 in order to support X12 5010A1 testing for submitters who are ready to begin the 5010A1 transition. CMS will distribute a HETS 270/271 2011Q2 Release Summary document outlining all of the components of this release in the near future.
CMS continues its work to analyze HETS performance issues encountered during the previous 2010Q3 release attempts. CMS has engaged industry and technical experts to assist in resolving all outstanding HETS performance issues before the 2011Q2 deployment. CMS is also adding additional capacity to the current HETS 270/271 system to improve performance until the 2011Q2 deployment. The additional capacity is scheduled to be in place by the end of January 2011.
CMS will use a controlled, incremental migration strategy for the 2011Q2 HETS deployment. CMS is developing a detailed plan to migrate submitters to the new HETS environment. CMS will share additional information about this strategy with HETS 270/271 submitters in the near future. The current HETS production environment will remain available until all submitters have been migrated to the 2011Q2 release environment.
Please look for additional updates and announcements regarding the HETS 2011Q2 release, future deployments, 5010A1 testing and production readiness from MCARE in the near future.
