CMS has identified an issue with a particular element of the current HETS 271 eligibility response.  Following the HETS 2012Q300 release on 12/15/12, the HETS 271 2110C currently returns EB08 as "20" to represent the Medicare Part B co-insurance percentage. The 5010 TR3 defines EB08 as a decimal which would mean that EB08 should equal ".2". The data that is currently returned may be interpreted as 2000% as opposed to 20%, which is the intended and correct percentage.

CMS will correct this issue on January 19, 2012 during an announced outage from 7:30 - 10:30 AM ET.  Following this correction, the HETS 271 2110C EB08 will return a value of ".2" for the Medicare Part B co-insurance percentage.
