Medicare HETS 270/271 Submitters:
CMS announces that the HETS R2013Q200 rescheduled release will be installed on Saturday, June 22, 2013. No content changes to the 270 request are absolutely required for this release but this is a significant release that includes a change in that HETS 270/271 will now require submission of a HCPCS (Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System) code instead of Service Type codes in the 270 request to receive Preventive service data in the 271 response. Submitters are strongly encouraged to review the linked documents below and prepare for this change.
The outage window will begin at 7:00 AM ET on Saturday, June 22, 2013. The HETS 270/271 system will be unavailable during this period. Attempts to open a connection to the HETS 270/271 application will result in errors. CMS estimates that the outage will be complete by 4:00 PM ET on Saturday, June 22, 2013.
Please note that this outage for Saturday, June 22, 2013 is in addition to the previously announced outage for Sunday, June 23, 2013 from 12:00 AM ET (Midnight) - 2:00 PM ET.
