Medicare HETS 270/271 Submitters:
CMS announces an outage to the HETS 270/271 application. This outage will allow for the installation of the HETS R2014Q300 Release (more details below). The installation window will begin at 9:00 PM ET on Friday, September 26, 2014. The HETS 270/271 system will be unavailable during this period. Attempts to open a connection to the HETS 270/271 application will result in errors. CMS estimates that the maintenance window will be completed by 12:00 PM (Noon) ET on Saturday, September 27, 2014.
CMS has published a HETS 270/271 R2014Q300 Release Summary (version 1-0) and a new HETS 270/271 Companion Guide (version 9-2) in anticipation of the 2014Q300 release. The R2014Q300 HETS release will modify the application’s allowable Date of Service dates for HETS 270 eligibility requests. The new allowable span will be up to 12 months in the past and up to four months in the future.

CMS is planning an upcoming HETS 270/271 R2014Q300 system release in Fall 2014.
CMS has published a HETS 270/271 R2014Q300 Release Summary (version 1-0) and a new HETS 270/271 Companion Guide (version 9-2) in anticipation of the 2014Q300 release (currently scheduled for late September/early October 2014). Submitters may need to modify their systems to comply with changes to the allowable Date of Service range in the HETS 270 request. HETS submitters should use the R2014Q300 Release Summary and updated Companion Guide to prepare for this important upcoming release.

The release is tentatively scheduled to be installed in late September/early October 2014. The HETS 270/271 application will be unavailable during the system release. CMS will distribute more specific release information (including estimated outage times) in September 2014.
