Medicare HETS 270/271 Submitters:
CMS is planning an upcoming HETS 270/271 R2016Q300 system release in the third quarter of 2016.
The HETS R2016Q300 Release introduces a more robust technical infrastructure for the HETS 270/271 application. Functionality of the HETS 270/271 application will remain unchanged with the exception of a few updates, the majority of which deal with error responses. The implementation of the technical infrastructure will require all submitters to migrate to a new platform. Submitter migration will take place in a phased and controlled approach beginning in the third quarter of 2016.
Submitters will be required to modify their systems to send their HETS 270 traffic to a new destination IP/Port or URL. Effective with this release, Submitters may need to modify their systems to ensure that their HETS 270 request does not include a Medicare Beneficiary’s middle name or initial, or a gender code.
CMS has published a HETS 270/271 R2016Q300 Release Summary in anticipation of this release. CMS urges all HETS submitters to use the R2016Q300 Release Summary and the upcoming amended HETS 270/271 Companion Guide to prepare for this important upcoming release.
