All changes are documented in Appendix A. The key change that Submitters need to review is bullet number five in Section 3.2.2. Effective with this release, HETS will reject 270 requests where a Social Security Number is sent in the 270 2100C REF segment. HETS Submitters must identify whether they are sending these types of requests to HETS and if so, modify your systems to ensure that these values are not sent in HETS 270 requests. This change is in addition to the previously announced requirement that Submitters must ensure they do not send the Medicare Beneficiary’s Middle Name, Middle Initial or Gender in the HETS 270 request.
The HETS R2016Q300 release is scheduled for the third quarter of 2016. Submitters will be notified when additional information is available regarding this release.
