Medicare HETS 270/271 Submitters:

CMS announces the following:

1. CMS previously announced an upcoming outage to the HETS 270/271 eligibility system on Saturday, December 17, 2016.  CMS will install updates to the HETS application during this outage.  CMS has published a revised HETS 270/271 Companion Guide (version 10-2) in anticipation of this release.  The upcoming HETS release will include a change to the HCPCS codes that HETS accepts.  HCPCS code G0389 (currently accepted by HETS) will be replaced by HCPCS code 76706 effective January 1, 2017. Also, HCPCS code 77057 will be terminated effective January 1, 2017.  HETS Submitters should review the document provided below to prepare for this upcoming release.

1. CMS announces an upcoming outage to the Medicare HETS 270/271 eligibility system. The outage will begin at 11:30 PM ET on Saturday, December 17, 2016. The HETS 270/271 system will be unavailable during this period. Attempts to open a connection to the HETS 270/271 application will result in errors. CMS estimates that the maintenance window will be completed by 12:00 PM (Noon) ET on Sunday, December 18, 2016.

This outage is in addition to the previously announced outage on Saturday, December 17, 2016 (see below).
