Medicare HETS 270/271 Submitters:
CMS announces an upcoming outage to the Medicare HETS 270/271 eligibility system. The outage will begin at 9:00 PM ET tonight, Wednesday, May 17, 2017. The HETS 270/271 system will be unavailable during this period. Attempts to open a connection to the HETS 270/271 application will result in errors. CMS estimates that the outage will be completed by 11:59 PM ET on Wednesday, May 17, 2017.
Following this outage, HETS 270/271 will begin a process of updating a large number of Medicare NPI records. This update process will take at least 24 hours. HETS 270/271 Submitters may receive NPI related 271 AAA errors until the associated Medicare NPI record updates. CMS will provide progress updates when more information is available.
