Medicare HETS 270/271 Submitters:
CMS previously announced the upcoming HETS 270/271 New Medicare Card Project system release. An updated version of the HETS Companion Guide (version 10-6) is now available to reflect upcoming changes effective with the New Medicare Card Project release. HETS Submitters should review the documents provided below to prepare for this important upcoming release. These documents are also available via the HETSHelp Documentation Library.

CMS will install this release in early 2018; the associated logic changes will go into effect on April 1, 2018. The HETS New Medicare Project release will introduce several key changes to the HETS 270 request and 271 response. CMS urges all HETS submitters to use the linked HETS 270/271 New Medicare Card Project Companion Guide and Release Summary documents to prepare for this important upcoming release.
