Medicare HETS 270/271 Submitters:
CMS is planning a HETS 270/271 system release (the HETS R2014Q100 release) in April 2014. This release will include changes that were originally scheduled for the HETS R2013Q400 release, plus additional changes.
CMS has published a HETS 270/271 R2014Q100 Release Summary (version 2-0) and a new HETS 270/271 Companion Guide (version 9-1) in anticipation of the 2014Q100 release (currently scheduled for April 2014). No content changes to the 270 request are absolutely required for this release but submitters may need to re-evaluate the Service Type Codes that are being submitted on the 270 eligibility request. HETS submitters should use the R2014Q100 Release Summary and updated Companion Guide to prepare for this important upcoming release.

The release is tentatively scheduled to be installed in April 2014. The HETS 270/271 application will be unavailable during the system release. CMS will distribute more specific release information (including estimated outage times) in March 2014.
