Arkansas TEFRA-Like 1115

The Arkansas TEFRA-like demonstration provides coverage for disabled children otherwise eligible for Medicaid under Section 134 of the Tax Equity and Fiscal Responsibility Act. A sliding scale premium is assessed to families based on income. Services are delivered through the State's network of Medicaid providers and are reimbursed on a fee-for-service basis. The objectives of the demonstration are to determine methods to increase the attractiveness of the TEFRA option for states that have not yet adopted it and to render such optional coverage more affordable for states facing budget shortfalls.
