New Mexico State Coverage Insurance

This demonstration provides title XIX funded coverage to uninsured non-pregnant childless adults up to 200% FPL. Employers and employees are required to contribute to the cost of coverage. Prior to January 1, 2010, the population served by this demonstration received identical benefits funded through title XXI under the State Coverage Initiative Demonstration (11-W-00146/6 and 21-W-00012/6). Section 2111(a) of the Social Security Act, as enacted by section 112 of the Children's Health Insurance Program Reauthorization Act of 2009, ended title XXI funding for childless adults' coverage, and provided the opportunity for the State to request this Medicaid demonstration to continue coverage for the affected childless adult population using title XIX funds.
