Description
Washington's Transitional Bridge is a statewide section 1115 Demonstration to sustain coverage for early expansion-eligible individuals (Transition Eligibles) with countable household incomes up to and including 133 percent of the Federal poverty level (FPL) who are enrolled in the State-only Basic Health (BH), Disability Lifeline (DL), or Alcohol and Drug Addiction Treatment and Support Act (ADATSA) programs. Should these programs be eliminated, the enrolled individuals would lose their health care coverage until 2014 when they will become Medicaid-eligible due to passage of the Affordable Care Act. In addition to sustaining coverage, the Transitional Bridge Demonstration further serves the objectives of title XIX of the Social Security Act (the Act) by requiring Washington to seamlessly transition enrolled individuals to a coverage option available under the Affordable Care Act, and setting system modification milestones that will expedite the State's readiness for compliance with the requirements of the Affordable Care Act and other Federal legislation.
