Medicare HETS 270/271 Submitters:
CMS will migrate HETS from its current single location setup to a multi-environment HETS Active/Active (HAA) implementation on Saturday, April 16, 2022. All HETS Submitters will need to redirect their HETS traffic during a coordinated period on that date.
Current Submitters that connect to HETS via a secure TCP/IP connection (typically using a HETS Authorized Connectivity Vendor) will need to coordinate with your connectivity vendor and/or internal network team to determine what, if any, action must be taken prior to Saturday, April 16, 2022 to ensure there is no interruption to your HETS connectivity. Some HETS connectivity vendors are leveraging the full benefits of the HAA multi-environment implementation; others will offer connectivity to a single HETS environment.
Current Submitters that connect to HETS over the internet using secure certificates via a SOAP or MIME implementation have received an updated SOAP or MIME destination URL from MCARE. SOAP and MIME Submitters will need to prepare to migrate their HETS volume to the new destination URL during the coordinated period on Saturday, April 16, 2022. SOAP and MIME submitters will be given an opportunity to pre-test their connectivity to the new destination URLs.
More information will be forthcoming in April 2022, but CMS urges all HETS Submitters (and their connectivity vendors) to begin preparations for this migration.
Please contact MCARE if you have any questions.
