Respiratory Virus Vaccine Partner Toolkit

Respiratory Virus Vaccine Partner Toolkit

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is taking action to protect the health and safety of our nation’s patients against Influenza (flu), COVID-19 (coronavirus), and Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV). These respiratory viruses cause illnesses in the respiratory system. These illnesses share similar symptoms, risk factors, and prevention strategies.

In August 2024, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) launched a new national campaign to inform the public about common respiratory viruses and available vaccines. The campaign, Risk Less. Do More., aims to increase awareness of vaccines that reduce serious illness from influenza (flu), COVID-19, and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) in high-risk populations and to limit the spread of these viruses among all Americans.

This partner toolkit includes resources from the HHS’ campaign as well as other resources from HHS, CMS and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Help amplify the importance of respiratory vaccines by sharing the materials below via social media, newsletters, listservs, and other means.

HHS Risk Less. Do More. Campaign Resources

The Risk Less. Do More. campaign will prioritize reaching audiences at high risk from Pan Respiratory Viruses (PRVs), including adults ages 60 and older, adults living in long-term care facilities (LTCF), pregnant people, health navigators, and healthcare providers. The campaign engages these priority audiences with tailored messaging for general market, Black, Latino, and rural audiences, along with family members and friends who help older adults access care and make health decisions. The campaign also tailors messages for health care providers (HCPs) and provides them with resources to help facilitate conversations with patients about Pan Respiratory Virus vaccines.

For All Partners: View the latest campaign advertisements informing audiences about flu, COVID-19, and RSV vaccines.

For Health Care Providers: Review a range of resources to share with patients, including a flu, COVID-19, and RSV fact sheet, commonly asked questions and answers about vaccines, and a poster outlining key reasons to get vaccinated.
