CMS and Small Business

CMS is committed to supporting small businesses and continues to provide opportunities set aside specifically for small businesses.  Small businesses provide economic growth and job creation as well as bring new and innovative ideas.

CMS has two Small Business Specialists (SBS). The SBS is a member to the Health and Human Services (HHS) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) headquartered in the Hubert H. Humphrey Building in DC. The SBS is CMS' OSDBU representative ensuring that all reasonable action is taken to increase awards to small, small disadvantaged, HUBZones, and women-owned businesses. Company profiles and capability statements for all types of services are maintained by this office.  Click here to view the OSDBU SBCX site to find communications and upcoming HHS Small Business events.

For small businesses looking to enter into government contracting, the Small Business Administration has a wealth of information including how to get started with small business contracting, the 8(a) mentor-protégé program, and SBA local assistance
