MCBS Savings Among Medicare Beneficiaries Living in the Community 2022 Infographic

Highlights:
- Among Medicare beneficiaries living in the community in 2022, 72 percent owned a savings account. Black non-Hispanic and Hispanic beneficiaries were least likely to own a savings account (56 percent and 46 percent, respectively) compared with White non-Hispanic beneficiaries (78 percent).
- In 2022, 50 percent of Medicare beneficiaries living in the community owned a 401(k), 403(b), IRA or other retirement account. Approximately 19 percent of Black non-Hispanic beneficiaries and 17 percent of Hispanic beneficiaries owned a retirement account compared with 59 percent of White non-Hispanic beneficiaries.
